The World's 2nd Highest Paragliding Site
Billing (2,400m ASL) is the official takeoff. Bir is the landing zone (1,350m ASL). The 10-km glide path takes you over dense Himalayan forest, terraced rice fields, and monasteries — one of the most scenic paragliding routes on the planet.
Bir Billing hosted the Paragliding World Cup in 2015 and 2017, cementing its reputation as Asia's finest free-flight destination.

Pathankot is the nearest broad-gauge railhead. Overnight trains from Delhi (Jammu Mail, Himachal Express). From Pathankot, take a cab via Palampur (~2.5 hrs, ₹1,200–1,800).

By Bus
HRTC Volvo — Direct to Baijnath/Bir
HRTC and private Volvo buses run daily from Delhi ISBT Kashmere Gate (12–14 hrs, ~₹700–1,200). From Chandigarh, buses to Palampur (6–7 hrs) then local cab to Bir (20 km).

By Road
NH3 via Chandigarh — well-maintained
Delhi–Chandigarh–Bilaspur–Mandi–Baijnath–Bir (490 km, ~9–10 hrs). Chandigarh to Bir is 250 km (~5 hrs). Beautiful mountain drive from Mandi onwards.

Pro Tip
If flying to Gaggal (DHM), the hotel transfer + scenic drive takes under an hour. That's often faster than the Chandigarh bus option and much more comfortable.
